In a dynamic world business leaders are not going to solve tomorrow's problems with yesterday's theories. Changes in both business and society have increased the gap between business's way of life and society's needs, creating a major incongruence between the lifestyles of business and society. The only way to resolve this incongruence is for business to show more concern about the social effects of its actions; hence, social responsibility is inevitable. The author discusses four long-run areas of change that have made socially responsible behavior necessary.
